1. What is my password?
When you create a Photodeal account you create a password. If you forget this password we can send it to you by e-mail. On the home page or Log in page select ‘Forgotten password?’ situated at the top right corner, beneath where you usually sign in.
You can also change your password within ‘My Account’.
2. How do I upload images?
To upload your images select the ‘upload pics’ option, situated directly below the ‘PhotoAlbum’ heading, on the left of the page. This will open a new window, where you will be able to browse the files and folders on your home computer and find the images you wish to upload.
3. Can I send photos directly to my friends?
Yes. You can share pictures on line or have prints delivered directly to your friends' home.
Your main album page has a share option (blue heading, centre of the page) where you can share the whole album or just 1 or 2 of the pictures in that album. When your friend receives an e-mail they can follow a link and it will bring them to the shared album or picture, if they are a Photodeal member they will receive a message when they next log into their account. Your friend's will not be able to edit the picture or access anything else. However if they choose to accept your shared album as one of their own they will be able to order prints if they wish.
You can also send prints directly to your friends’ home. You can do this within the ‘checkout’, as you will be given the option of adding their address. This address will automatically appear in your address book, which you can find within ‘My Friends’.
4. How long will my pictures remain on the Photodeal site?
If you are a regular user of the Photodeal site then your pictures will remain on the website indefinitely. But if your account remains unused for 6 months we’ll delete your account. We will send you a reminder 1 month before your account expires.
5. How do I check the status of my order?
We will inform you by e-mail of the status of your order, unless you choose not to use this option. We will inform you when we have received your order, when your order has been dispatched and when your order has been delivered. You can also check the status of your order on the web site within ‘My account’.

My Account
This is an important area where you can check your order history, alter your site preferences, view how much Photodeal credit and discount you have, check your registration details and change your password.
My Friends
The 'My Friends' area of the site is like an address book, you can manage all your friends details. You can include their e-mail address, and a number of postal addresses. By entering your friends details it makes sharing and sending photos and albums much quicker.
My messages
Within my messages you can view all the messages your friends have left about your albums and photos. You can choose to view messages about a certain picture, from a specific friend, even messages left on a particular day. You can also reply and add comments in this area.
Photo Albums
This area, to the left of the page, displays the basic information about your albums. Each album is represented by an orange album icon, and when selected the icon will appear open. The title of the album appears (up to 9 characters) after the album title and the number of images contained within the album will be displayed in brackets. The albums that have been shared with you also appear in this area and are green in colour.
Creating a new album
Creating a new album is easy! Simply select the ‘Create new album’ link situated beneath the ‘Photo Album’ heading on the left of the page. A new window will enable you to name the album and write a brief description.
Uploading pictures to an album
Adding pictures to an album is easy! Simply select the ‘upload pics’ link situated beneath the ‘Photo Album’ heading on the left of the page. This will open a new window where you can upload your images.
Renaming an album
You can rename an album whilst you are viewing it. The album title will appear in the centre of the page, click the ‘rename album’ text link, situated to the right of the album title to change the name.
Sharing an album
To share an album with your friends, first select the album. Then choose the ‘Whole album’ option that appears below the ‘Share’ heading in blue. This will take you to your address book, where you can either select a friend’s address or create a new friend and add their details. Once you have selected your friend you have the option of adding a message to the album. What happens next is that your friend will receive an e-mail inviting them to view your album.
Deleting an album
You can delete an album whilst viewing it. The text link ‘Delete album’ is situated to the right of the album heading. A pop up will appear checking that you are sure you wish to delete the whole album. You will not be able to retrieve the album once it has been deleted.
Moving an album
To move an album, first select the album you want to move. Select the text link ‘move album’, situated to the right of the album heading. Once you have selected the ‘move album’ option a pop up window will appear with a drop down menu where you will be able to choose the destination for your album.
Editing a picture
You can select the picture you wish to edit in two ways, using the edit icon beneath the picture or by selecting the image (tick box situated at the top left of the image) and then choosing ‘Edit selected’ within the edit options box. You will then have a full range of edit facilities.

If you select this edit option you will have a decreased number of edit options to choose from.

Rotate - enables you to rotate the image 90, 180
Brightness - Try using if your photos print too darkly, you may increase their brightness by typing a percentage value in this field. You may need to experiment to find the best percentage.
Contrast - Try using if you want to change the relative lightness and darkness of the photo. Contrast can be effected by the lighting of the subject.
Adjust - This facility automatically adjusts the contrast for you, enhancing both the brightness and contrast more effectively using the Histogram tool
Sharing a photo with a friend
Whilst viewing the album, select which photos you want to share, and then click, ‘share selected pics’. A new window will appear, you must then, select the friend you wish to share with from the left hand panel. You can also add new friends during this process. When you have selected your friend, another window will appear, where you can add a message. You then submit the request and your friend will receive an email, or if they are a Photodeal member they will receive a message the next time they log into their account.
Sharing an album with a friend
Whilst viewing the album you must select the 'Share whole album' option, this will open a new window where you can select the friend you wish to share the album with. Once you have chosen your friend a new window will appear where you can add a message and then submit the request. Your friend will then receive an email or if they are a Photodeal member they will receive a message the next time they log into their account.
Albums shared with you
Other friends may wish to share an album with you, when they do this the album will appear in your main ‘albums’ column, the albums shared with you will appear in Green. The next time you log into your account you will receieve a message on your home page telling you a friend has shared an album with you .
Commenting about shared albums
If you wish to make a comment about a shared album you can do this by selecting the 'My Messages' area. You will be able to select the album, view your friends'comments and then add your own. You can also select the Comments icon beneath a shared imgae, this will bring up a new window where you can enter your comment about that picture.
Sending pics to an e-mail address
When you share a pic or album with a friend they will receive an e-mail with a link to your photo or album.
Sending pics to a postal address
You have your own address book which you can use to contain a list of family and friends you would like to send prints or gifts to. You can manage your address book either from the My Details section on your homepage or as part of the check-out process when placing an order. When checking-out an order, select the option that says dispatch to another address. We dispatch orders anywhere in the world.
Sending pics to multiple addresses
If you wish to send prints or gift items directly to a number of friends you can do this whilst in the shopping basket. So long as you have selected the images and it is in your basket you can choose any number of people to send it to, either using the drop down menu or using the text link 'select the address'.
Buying a picture
When buying one picture simply view the album then click the buy icon beneathe the image or select the photo by clicking the tick box in the top left corner of that image. You must then select the ‘Buy selected pics’ option, which will take you to the shopping basket page. Here you can choose the size and format of the print, and choose who and where the photo is to be sent.
Buying all pictures in one album
This is extremely easy to do, whilst viewing your album simply select the ‘Buy whole album’ option and you’ll be taken straight to the shopping basket. Here you can select the print size, type of finish, you can even decide to send the photos to a friend. You can also select individual photos and choose a different print size and style or even turn it into a photo gift.

My Basket
When you have selected pictures for printing they will be held in your shopping basket. At the top right of the page you can make a quick check of how many items you have selected and what the cost is so far, you can also view and edit the basket and go directly to the checkout from here.
Within ‘My Basket’ you have a number of options. Across the page will be displayed information about each picture you have chosen to print; you will see a thumb nail image of the picture, the picture name, the format and finish of the picture, the quantity you wish to order and the cost.
Photodeal automatically selects the format, finish and quantity as 6x4, gloss, 1 copy. You can change the format and finish of each picture using the drop down menus and order more than one print by changing the number in the quantity box.
The delivery address appears in a blue bar, above the images. If you are having prints delivered to more than one address, they will be treated as separate orders, and all subsequent orders will appear separately, below your first order.
To the left of each picture is a check box, where you can select a picture and then choose from a range of options using the 'Make your amendments here…’ drop down menu, situated above the picture. Options include; Send pics to an additional address, Order selected pics in another format, Change format of selected pics and remove selected pics.
The pictures will remain in your basket until you order them or remove them, so you can look through your albums and select more pictures, even log out and return days later, you’re chosen pictures will still be there.

Here is where you enter your credit card details, you can also enter offer codes, buy and use your Photodeal credit.
Payment options
You can enter the details of any number of credit cards giving you more payment options. You will still need to have your cards handy when paying as you will be required to type in the card security numbers.

Buying Photodeal credit means that next time you come to buy your photographs you won’t need to enter any further information and you’ll save yourself money.
You cannot use a cheque or cash to pay for your photos online.
Secure payment
Photodeal uses Datacash Payment Gateway to process your online transaction. All card transactions are encrypted and conducted over secure servers, which means we don’t store your card number. When you enter your card details they are security checked immediately with the acquiring bank, allowing for real time transaction. On ordering your card details are cross checked with your name and billing address, these must match for the process to be completed.
At Photodeal you can enter the information for any number of credit cards, however each time you come to use the card you will still be asked for the 3/4 digit security number in order to validate the card.

The next time you come to pay for your photos, you can use your Photodeal credit, which means no searching for credit cards and typing in security numbers, making it quick and simple.
